The past five days Mike and I have spent disconnected (for the most part), relaxing and mentally getting ready for all of our upcoming changes. I’m so proud of everything he has accomplished and know I don’t tell him enough. He is about to graduate from dental school at UNC for those who don’t know, which will be the first time he has been out of school since preschool, yes, I said preschool. From preschool to college, to his masters degree program and now dental school, I am so thankful to have an equally driven partner by my side and equally thankful I was able to “drag” him on this trip.
I have to admit, sitting still is neither of our strong suites, but we actually managed to do just that this time around thanks to very limited internet access. I managed to read through five books, one including Entreleadership by Dave Ramsey which I absolutely loved and has been on my must read list for a while. The others were your typical girly books, and now I have circled back to Stephen Coveys “7 Habits of Highly Effective People”. I have to balance the girly books with something business related! Mike on the other hand, I am fairly certain plowed through about 100 levels of his newly acquired Nintendo handheld game and most of Steve Jobs biography, well done babe 🙂
With all of that said, I am happy to be home, rejuvenated from our trip, and so excited for Ashlee and Jeff’s wedding this weekend at the Highgrove Estate. Taking a step back from moving 100 mph every day is good for the soul and I am so grateful for the opportunity to recharge our batteries in Punta Cana. I am ready to kick off this wedding season and cannot wait to see what the year holds!

Of course this post would not be complete without a few vacation selfies and phone photos (the only way we actually got both of us in the photos). The last photo is our “sad to be leaving” selfie 🙂
