Robert reached out to me at the beginning of July all the way from Germany and asked if I would photograph him and his fiance’s downtown Wilmington NC elopement, particularly since that was where I was born. They flew in from Germany to spend a few days in Wilmington and get married in a city they have both fallen in love with after many trips to the states.
The morning started on Wrightsville Beach, surrounded by intense fog that made it very difficult to see (but did make for a couple lovely images!) We then headed off to the other end of the island to wait it out, and waited for the sun. It finally peeked out, but not without it’s friends Crazy Heat and Humidity. Robert and Juliane were troopers though, and we took some sweet sweet images of their love. Then we journeyed to downtown for a few more photos, to cool off and then to head over to the courthouse for their ceremony! Which, of course, was so sweet and perfect. I was so glad to be a part of it.
This upcoming November, they’ll be welcoming a beautiful new baby into their home and I wish them both the very best as newlyweds and soon to be parents.
